The Port Town of Véraldo
Area Cutter, aka "Air Cutter"
Golems. Looks like crew are inside. Despite their weight, their thudding steps don't hole the deck — sea god's protection.
"Golems, huh. Fun."
Two golems lined up. More knightly than the port model — three-meter giants in full plate. Great aesthetic… but are they my enemies? Different question.
Two golems — maybe I can break one. First, neutralize one.
"Toh — Air Cutter!!"
I used spatial magic to remove limbs — thunk. The torso hit the deck.
Limbs fell cleanly. Cables, pipes, armor, all had smooth cross-sections.
Gomez gaped.
"W-what!? The golems are under the sea god's protection! They shouldn't even scratch!!"
"Oh? Are they now?"
Looks cut, but maybe still connected.
I tried actual spatial severing on the other golem.
"Another Air Cutter! … Right, it won't cut. Nice protection."
My severing bounced off their arms.
So, non-damaging changes pass, damage gets repelled. Spatial magic's from the Goddess, but it's not a 'protection.'
"Do it before she does! Grab her!"
"G-golem, go!"
"Oops."
I caught the golem's punch on my arm.
No pain. Invincible mode. The protected deck won't break either.
"Hup!"
I grabbed its arm and lifted.
"No way! You don't know how heavy—"
"Heavy is heavy, whether I know or not. I don't know, but — yeet."
I tossed it onto the lackeys.
"Gah! It's stepping on me! Move it!"
"Help! It's heavy!"
"Don't move, you'll get crushed!"
So the crew are protected too? I can go harder.
"Damn it, magic! Guns! Anything!"
"W-water Ball!"
"Burst Water!"
"Blind Mist!"
Water magic chilled me; mist blinded me. Bullets pinged off and ricocheted.
Without invincibility, that'd be bad. With it? Meh.
"Did we get her!?"
The mist cleared. Gomez saw me pristine and flinched.
"—Hiii!"
"Nope. That's what you get for saying the line."
"Monster! … Fine. Great sea god, Poseidon! There's an uninvited guest aboard — Force Disembark!!"
Snap! I was bounced outside the ship. No footing — just sea below.
"Oh? Well now…"
"Hah! To the depths with you — she's floating!?"
"Hey, don't lock me out. I didn't authorize my own lockout."
"Fall in, monster!"
Nice trick. Normally I'd sink — or get eaten by sea monsters.
But I can anchor my coordinates with spatial magic to float or fly.
"Hm? I can't get back in."
Trying to re-enter failed, felt something like a barrier.
"Fool! You can't enter a ship under the sea god's protection! Shoot her down!"
They fired magic and bullets.
Magic Cylinder — return to sender.
"Wha — it's coming back!?"
"I-impossible! Inside the ship!?"
Ah, their own shots return.
But relying on that alone is tedious. They're not tutorial mobs.
Time to attack myself. Ugh.
"—Super Air Cutter!"
I swept a hand edge along the hull — the ship split in two.
Spatial magic (non-severing) bent the ship like a folding fan. The sundered deck hinged, bow and stern pointing skyward.
"Waaaaa!?"
"T-the ship! The ship!!"
"M-my arm fell into the sea!? It's cut but there's no pain or blood!?"
Abandoned golems fell into the sea — yoink, mine now, chumps.
"Time for a swim, boys!"
"N-no, no, noooo!!"
Gomez and every pirate on deck slid into the sea.
Golems — collected. Their pilots bailed and the units are pristine. Delicious.
"And this too."
Once they were all in the drink, I stored the halved ship.
If I take the whole ship, that includes Poseidon. Probably.
